Did you know that regardless of skin color, or ethnicity, we all share 99.9% of the same DNA? Yet we find ourselves, as a species, dominated by childish notions of tribalism, racism, and division — It’s painfully stupid.
I thought it would be cool to show people how these unlikely animal friendships, help to remind us that if we share the desire for peace, happiness, and friendship, what else really matters? If you and I want to live in freedom and harmony, regardless of external appearance, how can we be enemies?
SHERE KHAN, BALOO AND LEO
This is Leo, Baloo and Shere Khan. They were rescued from a drug dealer who neglected and abused them badly. The trio remind me that when we experience enough pain and hardship in life, we come to realize that the only thing that really matters is living in peace and happiness. And if you and I both value peace — regardless of external appearance, what our belief system is, or where we were born — then we are not different in any significant way.
TINNI THE DOG AND SNIFFER THE WILD FOX
Dogs and foxes have been pit against each by man throughout history, who have used the dogs to hunt the foxes. But Tinni and Sniffer remind us that social circumstances and history do not define our relationship with one another, we do.
SHARKY THE PITBULL, MAX ARTHUR THE CAT & THE CHICK CREW
Cats and dogs are famous for their rivalry, and the same could be said for cats and birds, but here we see it doesn’t matter what history or society says, when raised in a loving environment, harmony can easily be attained. It’s also no secret that Pit Bull’s have a terrible reputation thanks to stupid dog owners and outlandish media propaganda, but Sharky proves the haters wrong.
ANJANA THE CHIMPANZEE WITH TIGER CUBS
Anjana the chimp, reminds us of our inborn nurturing instinct. So when you begin to view someone else as being different to yourself, remember that they — like you — share this admirable quality of being loving and humane deep inside them too.
ABBY THE DOG AND BONEDIGGER THE LION
Bonedigger and Abby share an incredible relationship. He’s truly a gentle giant, that seems to be reserved, and she is a little fearless open lover. Their differences seem to complement and complete each other. Likewise, our differences can be used to not only cultivate beautiful relationships but a better world at large too.
CHANCE THE PIT BULL AND WESLEY THE BULL COW
Chance the Pit Bull and Wesley the Bull Cow, come from completely different species that were forced to fight each other in the past, through the vicious so called “sport” of bull baiting. Yet, they show us that it is not what race we were born us that defines our relationship to one another, it’s how we treat each other.
BUBBLES THE AFRICAN ELEPHANT & BELLA THE LABRADOR
Bubbles and Bella go swimming together, and hang out all the time. They remind us that adventure and happiness is something we share, and something that brings us together.
Viewing these unorthodox relationships shows that we have much more to learn from animals, than they have to learn from us.CLICK TO TWEETIt also really makes me wonder if all living things share a similar spirit? The desire for Love and Peace seems to dwell deep within all of us. But if there is one thing that I take away from this, it’s that when basic survival needs are met (food, water, and shelter) it opens up the possibility for peace.
Considering we live on a planet that provides enough for everyone’s needs (food, water, land), but not for everyone’s greed (money has created artificial scarcity for the many and abundance for the few), it is wise to remind ourselves that peace is possible if we simply first meet basic human needs.
